A new subspecies and new records of Trichosanthes (Cucurbitaceae) for India, and notes on T. khasiana

In India, knowledge of the geographic distribution Trichosanthes species is inadequate, largely due to lack revisionary work. Based on field observations, collected specimens and data from herbarium specimens, this paper describes a new taxon – T. dunniana subsp. clarkei Sikkim northern hill districts West Bengal in northeastern India; presents first confirmed records three southeast Asian taxa, viz., wallichiana subrosea tricuspidata Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The name khasiana has been lectotypified, Indochinese inthanonensis reduced under it. southern Chinese transferred at rank as , while tridentata synonymy subspecies. Furthermore, we provide an updated map with occurrences these taxa critical taxonomic notes additional characters.
